I bet you forgot about us....
Well, We still aren't dead. We're like that bad cold that just won't ever go away..... but in that good way. Jae and I are still writing songs and jamming on old ones. We should be recording soon and resuming the search for peeps to rock with us. I wanna post more mp3's up on the mp3.com site too. That should be happening sometime later this month. More to come.... We are still around.... I swear!
The summer kinda sucked for us though. Jae had a car accident and has been without his for what feels like 5 months now. Rest assured we are still a band and we are still gonna tear up the jersey shore. Only thing is everyone may have gone back up north when we finally get there! :-) We are recording this Friday though, which always makes me happy. Jae has really written some great stuff and I'm dying to get it on to a cd for everyone, or even mp3.com (yes, we still have songs there)! Other then that, I have been getting my practice in recording some local bands (Blind Panik and Miles From Shore) to keep up my "chops" for when the Jughandle Sessions come! I did finally manage to start that Holistic Medicine Project EP. I just finished the first track off it, and I must say, I'm damn proud of what came of it! I will try to post it up on the Jughandle mp3.com page, provided Jae doesn't care. I gotta get, its like 93% in my room right now. Monmouth Beach here I come!!!! I wonder, are you thinking of me tonite?
Hey all... Lots of action on this journal recently. Just wanted to let everyone know that we're still rocking out and playing on July 25th in Middletown, NJ. It's gonna be a great show. A must see, if you will. I'm still trying to get everyone's schedules together to record some stuff for you all. Jae has really written some great stuff, all we need to do now is get it on tape. See you all on the 25th! Joe Current Mood: amusedCurrent Music: The Youth Ahead - The New Album | | Thursday, May 1st, 2003 | | 4:38 pm |
Another journal update...
Wow, We really gotta update this thing more. Hi all, Joe here. Jae, Kay, and I are all doing very well. While Kay has about a million projects she's doing now, Jae and I have been demo'ing songs and running through the mountain of music we have written over the past few months. Look for some new stuff on mp3.com soon. We are also still in search for a bass player. If anyone wants the job and loves the music, respond here or email me at jschroeck@jughandle.net. We've also been booking up our summer with tons of local shows at the shore! 2 at the Middletown VFW building and so far 1 at the Keyport Knights of Columbus (which i'll be putting on myself). There's gonna be great bands at all of these shows, and we should hopefully have some more merch coming soon. I'll update again next week. Thanks for still looking, Joe | | Wednesday, April 9th, 2003 | | 9:43 pm |
Hey Hey Hey....
Hi all (if there's anyone left), I just wanted to let you know that Kay, Jae, and myself are still going to rock out! With the departure of Dan and Tim come more styles into the band and a new bassist to be announced shortly. We also have 2 shows coming up in July and August at the Middletown VFW. We also have finally passed the 3,000 downloads mark on mp3.com! Which is a huge cause to celebrate. Look for some new demo'd stuff soon. Does anyone read this thing anymore??
Hi all, Joe here. Just seeing if people still read this journal. The band is alive and doing well. We took a break so we could all get re-adjusted toour lives outside of ALD. But we've all been talking lately and are going back to playing shows! We are also recording 6 Green Day cover songs for a compilation cd we're gonna be on (also I will be releasing the "Green Day Years" cd thru Crimson Wave for only $2.00 per cd!) Hope everyone is enjoying their new year and please post comments if anyone still reads this bad boy! After long delay... It's me, it's me, the J-A-to the-E
P.X. here and YES the title is corny as hell. It'd be a lie to say that there wasn't a lot to talk about, and it'd be another lie to say I didn't have time to write about it... though not as big of a lie as the first. Ok, so what I'm here to do is a recap of the days gone past, and tells you's all what iz goin' down. To start, we named the EP after the fifth track, Gameshow. The EP recording came out great, but the post-production has been a slow toiling task, making it a bit long before it actually comes out (much to the anti-chagrin of the band who had hoped we'd get it out by the 13th of August... Damn). But we're going to make it come out as good as possible and toss it out there making you all feel good about yourselves for being such loyal fans of us... May I say that I feel great to say we have fans? Good. I feel great to say we have fans. Ok. Now we've got two shows coming up and one of them is a bit late to start promoting for now... but... WEDNESDAY! WEDNESDAY! WEDNESDAY! AUGUST 7th, 7:00pm at Club Krome in Sayreville... ave.lane.drive takes the stage, along side of Dingus, and Grounded Til Tuseday... and a few others. Those of you getting the newsletter should already know why we have no clue... but that's ok... it's still gonna be a rockin' show. Then... FRIDAY! FRIDAY! FRIDAY! August 16th, 7:00 pm, at Club Krome in Sayreville (yes, we play there A LOT) ave.lane.drive kicks it on the platform, playing with such bands as All Rights Reserved, Red 13, Blue Screen, Balance, and Utopia... should ALSO be a damn good show, so run on over to Sayreville, and catch some good home-made pop-punk and get your groove on. ---------------------------- That's all the BIG band news... except... YES! We finally have a manager... Tim Alexander. He's a cool guy and should help us out a LOT, so if you recognize the name from somewhere or actually know him, catch up on old times, and say hi... cause he's a pretty cool one at that. Um... so I'm out now cause there's nothing to talk about and I don't have the time for it anyway... Peace out. Current Mood: cranky | | Wednesday, July 17th, 2002 | | 9:27 am |
Update from the Studio...
Hi all, Joe here. As I said I would, here is the studio update. All the music sounds great! We finished up the 7 songs yesterday and in 2 hours are putting all the vocals down and mixing it today. We will all be coming back to OB with our own copies of the cd, and in 2, count 'em, 2 days we should have these bad boys for sale! One song I am especially proud of is The Way It Used To Be. Anyone that's been to any of our recent shows, it's the song with my big drum intro. While at the studio, I used to entirely different drum tracks to do my intro, so basically that track has 2 drummers on it in the beginning.... Me and... Me! :-) Maybe we'll get an update from Jae or Dan later too... See ya later, Joe Schroeck Current Mood: numbCurrent Music: Airconditioner Blowing in my face..... no really there is! | | Saturday, July 13th, 2002 | | 12:53 am |
Hit me in the back, like a brick through a window!
Hi everyone, Joe here. Just got back from the Club Krome show. One word can sum up that show. Speechless. We played a very good set. My drumming wasn't in top form (I had a total of 2 minutes to set up everything) but Dan and Jae were on! We will be back there rocking the house on the 16th of August, and should hopefully have some new cd's for people to hear. I'm feeling very pop punky tonite, maybe i'll write some new stuff. It was a great turnout at Krome I must say. Thanks to all that braved the $2.00 parking charge. Also, if anyone can tell me the name of the band that went on after we did tonite, it would be greatly apperciated. I'll update from the studio on Tues. Playing The Saint...
P.X. here, and I don't give flying rats ass what Dan says, but we rocked the house. We did mess up a bit, but we still had the people actually walk up to the front to watch us. I do have to thank Steve from Monty's Fan Club for standing up in the front... he chick magneted up some girls, who obviously magneted their slack-jawed yokel guys with them... and we had a decent crowd up there. The setlist was a kick in the ass to whoever didn't get to the show... since it was our best to date. But you can still catch us on Friday, July 12th at Club Krome. We'll be rocking it out first up, so get your ass there early. Well, now I'm gonna review the other bands that played with us that night. I only got to see a few since I had to leave a little bit early, so I'm apologizing now to The Miasmics... We'll start with... ---------------------------------- New Talent Ok. These guys are just starting out, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say that they've got time to improve. I give them props, they had a good lead guitarist, and a decent bassist... but what they really seem to need is a rhythm guitarist that can sing. The two guys on the stage had more of the background singer-type voices... and they needed a rhythm guitar because the lead guitar prefers to have his on the treble side of things, and the bass just can't cover it. But they still have a lot of time on their hands, so I say good luck to you, and God Speed. New Talent gets 2 out of 5 lightbulbs, but there's always ways to improve. ---------------------------------- I don't remember the name of the band that followed us, and I'm sorry. They actually were pretty decent considering the type of punk rock they play. I wasn't really into their style, but when they covered some Op Ivy and Dropkick, they weren't that bad. But since I can't name them at the moment, I'm not going to bore you with theatrics... ---------------------------------- Monty's Fan Club I haven't seen many bands that could get such attention that even the people who didn't like they're type of music were digging them. This is a ska band out of RI. And THEY KICK ASS. Enough to the point that I bought their CD, which also kicks ass. They are a very cool set of people too, and were nice enough to be the first people to walk up to the front in our set, starting the trend. They have some damn good songs, and they rocked the house big time. So what I'm going to do right now is tell you to hit up www.montysfanclub.com and check them out. They are DAMN GOOD. Monty's Fan Club gets a 5 lightbulbs out of 5, too good to miss live. Go check them out dammit. NOW! ------------------------------------ That's all I got to stay through unfortunately... so I can't give you any more thoughts on it. But seriously, folks... hit up our show on the 12th at Club Krome... and hang with the band. peace out. Reflecting on the past year...
Hi everyone, Joe here. I was just reflecting on the past year, mainly due to the fact mp3.com reset our money values which means we've had our mp3's up on there for over a year now. And I am proud to say we have had 2,409 downloads and Breakup's and Breakdown's started as the #1 pop punk song in NJ on that site and closed the year out at #14! Not bad coming from 3 guys from Jersey huh! :-) I'm getting ready for the Saint show tomorrow, man it's gonna be great. Also, don't forget, if you can't make it tomorrow, there is always Club Krome this coming friday! Have fun and hope to see you at the shows! Kicking some Pennyroyal Bootie (at pong!)...
Hi everybody, Joe here. Jae has already mentioned our shows but I got the times that the doors open! 7/7 - The Saint - Doors at 1pm (afternoon show) 7/12 - Krome - Doors at 7pm (night show) Both shows are really gonna kick some major ass. A ton of great bands on both bills. I also updated both sites, so we're now dial-up friendly. We finally got the EP Track Listing put together, just no name (anybody got one please post it our e-mail us, we're not very smart!) EP Track Listing 1. Song For a Music Video (J. Perez) 2. Breakup's and Breakdowns (J. Perez) 3. Gameshow (J. Perez, J. Schroeck) 4. Give It Up and Let It Go (J. Perez) 5. Killed It from the Start (J. Perez) 6. Way it used to be (J. Perez) 7. Fat Albert's Theory on Weight Loss (J. Perez) That's the way you'll see it on your cd cases. Just thought I'd bring it to you guys/girls first. We're redoing some old stuff to make it sound great and rocking some new stuff that should rock your socks off! Lastly, just wanted to say hi to everyone in Dirt Bike Annie, especially Mike Yannich (Mikey Erg to anyone who knows him after the Ergs). Good luck with the tour guys, hope everything is going great! Heyo... I'm playing out the joke. WE AIN'T DEAD!!!
P.X. here. Amazingly enough, I haven't really had anything to say until just NOW! If you've been coming to the site you've probably been noticing that Farliament Punkadelic has vanished... and you're probably thinking to yourself... "WHAT THE F*CK!?!?" Fear not. We are now AVENUE LANE DRIVE. That's right. ave.lane.drive Get used to it. We haven't. Anyway... we're still playing the goodness that was Farliament, just with an easier name to spell/pronounce. And not only that, but we're pumping out shows in July! Check us out at the Saint, in Asbury Park, on Sunday, July 7th. Doors open at 1pm, so if you feel like checking us out, but you're a Government Mule fan, you can see us, then hit up the Gov't at the Stone Pony around 4 or something... and STILL not miss a thing. $7 tickets from us, and $10 at the door, so get your arse in touch with us, and get a ticket. BUT if you have something to do that day, then you still have a second chance IN THE SAME WEEK! We've been selected to play a show at Club Krome, Rt. 35, on July 12th... we should be on first... but all the info isn't in on that yet, so we'll be getting back to y'all as soon as possible. Anyway, we'll also be hitting up the studio the week after those shows working on a more professional EP. So be prepared to pull out those wallets and get your hands on one of those too. Well, I be outta here. So have fun, and get to those shows... Peace out, Jae Current Mood: contentCurrent Music: "My Friend's Over You" -- New Found Glory | | Saturday, June 15th, 2002 | | 12:23 am |
No we really aren't dead.
Hi all, Sorry it's been so long since an update. We really need the whole band to do these. Umm.. Well, we are finishing up in the studio in the middle of July. Running down to Bayville, NJ and kick out the rest of our EP. It will sound awesome and as far as we know, maybe played on such kickin stations as, 106.3 FM, TSR (TCNJ Radio), Monmouth University Radio, Rutgers Radio, and Steven's Tech Radio, to name a few. Maybe we will attain true stardom and get on 106.3 Survivor of the Day! What a treat to kick off System of a Down or something like that. We also have someone else booking shows for us now. We will get her email address up as soon as everything is final. I am also almost finished with the HTML version of this website. It will be up very shortly (by the 16th) so look out for it. Side Project...
Hi everybody, Joe here with some really cool news! Jae and I have created a side project due just being bored I guess! We have a full website and everything. Here it is so bookmark this new page now! WWW>JUGHANDLE>NET It's gonna be more on the emo side of things and we will be recording in a little while. Farliament should be playing out anytime now. We'll keep you posted. Hi, we really aren't dead.
Hi all, Its true. Jae is right here at my house! (and won't leave!!!) Good things on the horizon. New album getting the finishing touches writing and arranging-wise. Also, mark you calanders... Sometime in late June I am putting on a show at the Cheesequake First Aid Station. So far A-Reminder has signed on and a few bands we've played with in the past will be signing on as soon as there is a definate date. Look for a great rocking night. Stay away from stupid questions...
Hi all, Sorry about the lapse in updates. This week we will be trying out a new drummer. This dude is the former New Direxion drummer and I really, really hope it works out. Jae and I have been working on several new songs. I have also been on a Dashboard Confessional/Counting Crows/Gameface/Rush kick, so that should yield some really cool songs. Still working on the summer bookings. And the server and domain search. Dan comes home from college this friday which will lead the way to a lot more practices! Sweet! On the homefront: We ripped the house apart to find half of this hellhole didnt have any support to it. A few months and some bad weather and this place would have fallen into Route 35! So we're fixing that problem and then putting the house on the market. Not bad, living in a house for 2 months and making $30,000 on it. Please god let me leave this place. Kicking your ass with another web design!
Hi all, In the next 2 weeks you will notice many new and great things on the horizon for the band. With the new recording sessions I figured it wouldn't hurt to design a new site for us. It is nearly finished and as soon as I get the domain name and the server ready it will be up for one and all to check out! Jae has already seen it and likes what I have done to it. So unless anyone reading this has their own server capable of running cgi and perl scripts (looking your way Yuichi) give me about 2 weeks and it'll be done. That's about it for now. Lots of new song written. Hope to be playing them out soon. Joe Current Mood: accomplishedCurrent Music: Geddy Lee- My Favorite Headache | | Friday, May 3rd, 2002 | | 9:37 am |
Nice show boys...
P.X. here and realizing that I haven't posted here in ages... so what I'm gonna do is talk about a show I wish we were on. First thing, the bands were amazing, including Tokyo Rose, A Reminder, and The Ergs. A damn good show, all in all... so congrats boyos. ------------------- Although I said I'd never do this again... I think I'm going to do it for local bands only, just because I have to support the local stuff. So... ON TO REVIEWS!! ------------------- Tokyo Rose - Chasing Flies Great Pure Emo from the Bloomfield, New Jerseyites. They put together good leads and the feel of punk that fits perfectly with their style. In my opinion they shoudl have been put on later on in the show, just because they are even better live than they are on their album. And that's saying a LOT! Chasing Flies gets a 4 out of 5 lightbulbs. ------------------- A Reminder - Document Whoa, the lead singer of the now defunct Groundswell has come back nad changed his style... proving that whatever you throw him in, he'll come out swinging. Damn good lyrics and damn good music. "Where I Began" is an AWESOME song, find it if you can. The emo power of this album can make most girls cry, even if they DON'T understand what he's talking about the first time around. (Great for "stuck-at-home" dates.) Good showing, Mike... but next time, use your real last name. :) Document gets a 4.5 out of 5 lightbulbs. Extra Credit: Mike for not quitting the business... ------------------- I'm going to the Mutant Pop message boards and putting up what people think of the name Jughandle. At the show we had gotten in a few conversations that brought up Farliament Punkadelic and it's future. The biggest thing that came up in those conversations was the fact that we might be changing the name. We told them about the idea of the name Jughandle, and amazingly everyone liked it. And when I say everyone, I mean everyone that we spoke to said that it should definitely be our new name because not only was it catchy... Road Jughandles are found ONLY in our area of New Jersey, and it would be easy to remember. So now my vote has gone from Mr. Pink to Jughandle. I want something our fans would remember, and obviously they'd remember it, by proof of the outstanding thoughts on it. ------------------- That's all I've got for now, and maybe Joe won't be pissed off at me anymore for not posting much... anyway... Peace out, Jae Current Mood: goodCurrent Music: "(Last Gas Before Interstate) 695" -- Tokyo Rose | | Monday, April 29th, 2002 | | 7:43 am |
7:43 am, still weekend I guess.
Hi all, Joe here. Just coming to the conclusion we definatly do not play enough shows! If anyone can help us out in this department please email me or post a reply to this entry. WE HAVE BEEN PIMPED OUT BY NJMUSICSOURCE.COM! That's right. Our album review of Mecca is up and there were some great things said about it. Also you can find our classified ad for a drummer (should have been up since 1999). But this dude Joe from New Direxion fame just emailed me last night interested in the band so we may get lucky. I start real estate school in about 1 hour and 17 minutes so that should be pretty interesting. How many pop punk bands do you know with a licensed real estate agent in them? :-) Dan should be finishing school next week or so and Jae should be finishing a week or two after that. So hopefully there can be a ton of shows from here to September. That's about all the band news I have for now. Though that whole creative erg fueled spat I had a few days ago yielded 2 new songs, "2 AM to Elberon" and "40 Exits". I played parts of them for Jae and Dan yesterday and they seem to dig them. You can never tell with those guys though. In other news non FP related... I may be doing the new Orgazmo Website. (Damn that sounds awesome!) They need flash programmers to make pages for the new DVD site they are creating. That'd be sweet, eh? And I haven't forgotten about the Holistic Medicine Project. I'm finishing that bad boy up this weekend hopefully and will have some mp3's up. Ok, gotta go to school now (damn that sounds funny)! Joe Current Mood: awakeCurrent Music: Weezer- My Name is Jonus |
